Rockman music is arguably the backbone of old-school 8-bit synth rock, and this 3-disc set has all six complete soundtracks from the Blue Bomber's NES/Famicom games. Although some of the tracks are superfluous, like the SE tracks and some of the short jingles, the meat of this set lies within the boss stage themes... and there are a LOT of them. The actual MIDI sound quality improves from the first Rockman soundtrack on, but the composition remains static throughout all of the discs. Whether you're looking for the classic Heatman theme from Rockman 2 or you're just seeking a complete collection that catalogs Rockman's musical history, this is the perfect soundtrack set to buy. The amount of melody and history contained within this boxset is astonishing.
