FM Sound Module is "Frequency Modulation Sound Source" which was invented in 1983 and became the main sound source for Synthesizers. This FM sound source started to be used for the video game music source and became the "New Standard" for Arcade games and Personal Computer game sounds. These days, video game sounds are created with newer technology that can create Rock, Orchestral Techno music (PSG Sound Source), but FM Sounds Module is still respected by video game music composers. What's FM Ongen Maniax This album, FM Sound Module Maniax is a compilation album by 14 video game music creators, and all music was created by using the FM Sound Module. The concept is "To Respect the FM Sound Module" and each creator composed and remastered their music for this special album! Why was this album created? The music tracks were originally made as "Receiving Tones" for mobile phones in Japan, many users requested to have the music tracks on a music CD album, and the company, "enterbrain!" made their fans wishes a reality. The original idea for this project was planned by a video game music creator, Mr. Nobuyoshi Sano, and "Melody Clip (an Internet Service for Receiving Tones for mobile phones)" collaborated with him. Mr. Sano is also the sound producer of this album. What's special? This album will be on sale until the May 12th 2006 in Japan, and CocoeBiz (VGMWorld.com) is the exclusive distributor for international customers.
