This box set is the ultimate music collection for any Guilty Gear fan. It includes Guilty Gear Sound Collection, Guilty Gear X Original Soundtrack, Guilty Gear Heavy Rock Tracks, Guilty Gear XX Original Soundtrack, Guilty Gear Isuka Original Soundtrack, and a bonus disc Guilty Gear Arranged Tracks Plus. Also comes with a booklet that includes artwork, tracklistings, and there is sheet music included for some of the GG tunes.

Everything Guilty Gear, 2006-02-20
Reviewer : DaedalusIkari - See all my reviews

For anyone remotely interested in buying Guilty Gear soundtracks, this pack is definitely the way to go. First and foremost is the sheer volume. All of the Japanese original soundtracks are in there (ie only the vocal albums, the Korean soundtrack to XX#R, and Sound Alive are missing), meaning you'll likely never need to buy another GG OST.

I think however this soundtrack is best suited for the bigger fans of the series. On this package, one's spending a lot of money for different versions of the same songs. Now, I myself don't mind this. I love hearing the evolution of the different songs and enjoy the variety of the different arrangements. I imagine though a lot of people wouldn't like spending so much money for 3 or 4 rearrangements of the same songs. For them, i'd suggest buy the individual soundtrack you like best.

Now that said, for those of you still interested in having all the different GG albums, having everything in one pack is merely one of three benefits of buying this pack. The second, is the presence of the missing tracks. Many of the OSTs had a few missing tracks that for one reason or another were left off the CDs. Examples include Beyond the Dark Life (GG), Beatin' my Soul (GGXX) and Fille de Vent (GG Isuka). Such songs would be included on later CDs, but things still felt unorganized having GG missing tracks on the GGX ost, or the Isuka missing tracks on the drama CDs. (Which i'd never even consider buying) Fortunately though, the Boxset remedies this by putting all missing tracks with their appropriate CDs. You know exactly where to find any track you'd want to listen to.

The last bonus of buying the boxset is the excellent 'Arrange Tracks Plus' CD. Here Ishiwatari took some of the favorite tracks from the original Guilty Gear, and gave them their much needed remakes in much the same fashion as Sound Alive. Each of the tracks not only sounds more clear than before, but just more modern in terms of insturments used. Live insturments, rather than the synthesizers used for the original sound collection. As a little extra bonus, we get A.B.A and Holy Order Sol's themes from Slash, a little preview of what's to come. ^^ (and no real need to buy a Slash OST when it comes out. =P )

Overall, for any Guilty Gear fans this is an excellent buy. You get everything Guilty Gear (again, except for vocal tracks and the Sound Alive album), with the bonus of the arrange tracks plus and a few missing tracks you really can't get elsewhere. If you don't mind paying for original songs as well as multiple arrangements of others, then this album is definitely worth checking out.
